Let's be honest, I have never been a good writer.
English was my worst subject in school. I suffered writing essays or short stories. I get "your" and "you're", and "their" and "they're" wrong all the time. I don't know much about paragraphing. And my sentences always turn out to be too long.
But despite all of this, I would love to start writing letters. There's nothing as amazing as receiving a personalized letter in the mail. Or even better than writing letters....TYPING them (that way, I can disguise my horrible handwriting!). So one thing I am on the lookout for is a beautiful typewriter. I remember as a child typing away on my aunties typewriter, where there was nothing as soothing as the sound of the letters flying past in an organized chaos.
In other news, our new store opens in TWO WEEKS TODAY! So things are getting busier with getting graphics and material sorted, ordering and receiving stock and getting staff ready and trained up! If you want to have a look at the style of jewellery we will be selling, check out our website and facebook :)
I love that you don't need to be a brilliant writer to write excellent love letters. Typewriters are magical.
ReplyDeleteAww, those are cute typewriters.
ReplyDeleteI'm the opposite of you...I always did well in English and in writing in school. But my math skills are atrocious.
I would love to write letters on a typewriter. You may have inspired me to buy one! x
ReplyDeleteyeah so exciting that the store will be opening so soon! love the photography!!

those typewrites are gorgeous things, aren't they?
ReplyDeleteI love typewriters. I have one, but need to buy ink. Still 'planning' to do that after 3 years. Letters would be fun. I should get my little nieces into that kind of stuff.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post, love the pics also! My husband's mother just gave me her old typewriter she got as a present from my father in law when they still were engaged! Isn't that lovely?
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
I absolutely love typewriters, had one for a while, but then sold it when I left the motherland. It's on the list of first things when I return. And snail mail letters are probably the best gift you can give someone!
