Finders Keepers Market: Recap

This weekend past the all too lovely Finders Keepers market came to town and of course, anyone who loves arts, crafts and handmade designerware was there! This has only been my second time going to the market since we've been in Melbourne and I must say, I'm a fan and will forever be a visitor to this great market.

With an incredible range of stalls from homewares, jewellery, clothes, books, stationary and vintage finds, you are bound to find something to fall in love with! Neil and I headed over to the markets after work on Friday night, so I only managed to snap some photos with my phone. It doesn't do it justice, as the whole the look and feel of the hall was incredible and themed so well with the work of Meeri Anneli - there were the sweetest teepees and signposts around the place that really added to the experience.

People's Market & Winner Announcement.

Last weekend Neil and I had quite a busy one! We only have one more week left before heading home for Christmas, so we've been making the most of festivities here in Melbourne and getting all our Christmas shopping done. We made our way over to the People's Market, a collection of old refurbished shipping containers turned markets. A definite Summer destination if you're around in Melbourne!



And a special little shout out to The Super Cool store! You saved my Christmas list! I had one more present to tick off my list, and I knew exactly what I needed to get. Only problem is, the very last one of these special little gifts were sold out from the store I was going to get (shhh, I know, I am being very mysterious, but you know...the person who will be getting it might be reading!). But thanks to The Super Cool, I now have a super cool gift, for a super cool person and was lucky enough to get the last copy of this special little gift! Choice guys!

The Finders Keepers.

The first time I heard about The Finders Keepers markets, I got so extremely jealous of everyone that could attend them. A market filled full of beautiful handmade jewellery and clothes, inspiring art and an awesome variety of stationary. Now, two years on, I've attended my first market and loved it! Neil and I managed to head over there after work on Friday night and the place was buzzing! With live music filling the air and the smell of fast food, it created a wonderful atmosphere.

There are just too many places to list that I loved, but my highlights would have to be A Skulk of Foxes with their amazing iPhone/iPad cases, Lauren Carney's incredible art, Inky Co with their lovely stationary and Frankie with...well with all their Frankie goodness! All too lovely :)

Market Day.

One thing I've loved ever since I got married nearly five years ago, is going grocery shopping! Sure, I know it's not really that glamorous or THAT exciting to most, but there's just something about it that makes me excited (okay, I do confess, I get excited quite easily, and for a number of different things!).

Ever since moving to Melbourne, we have been loving all the markets that are around the city. Neil and I have our weekly Saturday dates to the markets where we get to pick out fresh fruit and veges, fish and meats and treat ourselves to beautifully baked bread. When you get to see so many different types of foods on display, you get quite creative with your cooking! And last week we found a new stall that has such a big range of teas and spices...ah-mazing! And Neil is loving the coffee shop (top photo), filled with beautiful and fragrant coffee beans - you actually cannot resist that awesome smell, it lures you in!

If you're able to make it to local markets, I would definitely recommend going! I should say that's just from my experience here in Melbourne, but it's always worth checking and trying out :)
