For the love of Holga.

I am very excited to be sharing my first roll from the Holga 135BC. So glad for friends who have gorgeous Lomography cameras too so we can swap cameras and have a play :) And I am super happy that I did have the opportunity to try out the Holga 135BC, as I am now totally and utterly in love with it and sold on getting one myself!

Keeping my eyes on these two puppies, the lovely Daydream Lily inspired Holga designed by Liss in collaboration with Element Eden, or the Jack Edition Holga (which is my favourite colour at the moment, Orange!).

You can have a looksie on my flickr for other Holga snaps :)

Recent Snaps.

Yesterday I finally managed to pick up my most recent film from the Diana Mini I got developed. I absolutely love the first moments you get to go through your photos and actually remember what memories were captured. If you are like me you would know, it is easy to swap and change with different film cameras constantly being used, so it normally takes a few months for a whole film on one camera to be ready to get developed. That's why I was really excited to see I still had some photos of the snow on this film!

So loaded with a new roll of film and getting ready to make the most of Spring!

P.S. Am I the only one, or is there always so many food and/or drinks photos when you pick up your film? Hah, such a popular thing to photograph!

Better late than never.

Taken with Diana Mini. Features the horse, husband and I, Dane, Liss and Sone
Confession: I misplace things all the time, and then hours/days or even months later I manage to track down the misplaced item and think to myself, how did this get here? Okay so yesterday I found a stack of packs of photos which was taken this last year which I've never posted on and have been lying in my drawer waiting for something to be done with them. So as a treat (...and for lack of finding time to search the world wide web for an inspiring post), here it is! See if you can spot the familiars :)
This was taken at the Diana World Tour in Auckland earlier this year.

And of coarse cannot resist reminiscing about our holiday in Fiji as well - warm weather, swimming all day long, sleeping in, good food...what more could you want?

Looking back.

Oh what joy it is when you go to pick up your latest developed film, to find out not all your photos were completely destroyed when you accidentally opened the camera before rewinding the film (ouch, I know! I was very angry when it happened). Now instead I got a lovely light leak on some images which I much rather adore than despise. Sure about 6 photos are lost and forgotten forever, but is that sometimes the price to pay for these flukes?

...so without further a due, the winner of the Lomography & See Me Everywhere Competition, and the brand new owner of the Sprocket Rocket camera is...

Everything Reminds me of You!!
This stunning photo was entered by Elle, and eventhough there were so many amazing other photos, I couldn't help but come back to this one.

Congratulations Elle! I will be in touch shortly :)

Now I can't go without showcasing some other photos which were truelly inspiring and well worth noting, as it became very difficult to judge which one was my favourite.

"I still believe in paradise. But now at least I know it's not some place you can look for... it's seeing beauty and wonder in everything around you"

The Lomography & See Me Everywhere Competition! {CLOSED}

(Image. Shop.)

I am happy to finally be able to share this competition I am hosting, in collaboration with the Lomography! The thing I love most about Lomography, is the fact that your pictures are raw and untouched snippets of a moment in time to be treasured. We all know the saying A picture says a thousand words, so for this competition it will be up to you to take a picture that tells the story.

The Low Down - Your picture must be based around this quote: "I still believe in paradise. But now at least I know it's not some place you can look for..." You can be creative and interpret it any way you want, and through your photo, finish the sentence.

The Snap Snap - You can use either digital or analogue photography to capture your photo, however please do not submit a photo that has been edited through a phone application (e.g. Hipstamatic).

The Golden Ticket - You can upload your photos to this flickr pool that is specific to this competition. Otherwise, send them to me personally at seemeverywhere {at} gmail.com, and I will upload them. You can enter as many times as you would like. For the title of your photo, make sure to include your ending to the sentence.

The Champion - One lucky winner will become the new owner of Lomography's Sprocket Rocket camera!!! The winner will be based around the most creative photo, not on the most photos uploaded.

The Closing - Competition closes on the 15th April 2011, to give those of us who are taking analogue photos plenty time to get them developed.

The Surprise - Not only is this a competition to win a Sprocket Rocket camera... Lomography is also giving away not one or two, but FIFTY $10 vouchers!! That means FIFTY of you lucky readers will be treated to a little voucher towards your next purchase with Lomography. All you have to do to go in the draw to win the voucher, is to leave your name and email in a comment below. PLEASE supply email address as comments without email address will not be considered for the giveaway as I won't be able to contact you.

By entering the giveaway, you may receive Lomography Newsletters.

I am Confused - Not to worry, just flick me an email with any further questions regarding the competition :)

Have fun coming up with some creative concepts for photos and don't forget to upload them here, as I will be sharing some in the next couple of weeks!

EDIT: This competition is now closed!

The weekend that was.

What a weekend! As you know, a crowd of us made our way up to Auckland on Friday for the opening of the Diana World Tour, and what an awesome evening that was. These are just a few snippets of our evening of plastic fantastic. A big thank you to Emma from But Honestly, Liss from Daydream Lily, Sone from Polli, Dane from Tornadoes & Tigers, Melissa from From Me To You, Shannon and Neil for making it such an enjoyable night. Big ups to the husband who had to endure 3 hours worth of driving, listening to four girls' chatter and ranting - you are a true sport :)

Love for Lomography.

Holga 120

Diana Mini

LCA +

As you all know, tomorrow some friends and I are heading up to Auckland for the Lomography: Diana World Tour. I am buzzing with excitement, so I thought I would share some photos of some of my favourite lomography cameras. All of these are taken by the very talented Karen Francisco. Let me just say, it is worth a look through her flickr account, as she has well over 300 pictures of lomography inspiration! Who has some of the cameras listed above?

So planning for a weekend filled with a whole lot of cameras! Hmmm suppose I better share some pictures then next week :)

Anticipation growing.

(Jessica)

Oh how my anticipation grows for the Diana World Tour that is coming to Auckland next week! Making a date out to Auckland on Friday to attend the opening of the show and I must say, I am looking forward to seeing more of these!

Has anyone been to any of the Australian shows, or planning to go to the Auckland one?

Away in the Wilderness.

Well as you would know, I am away in the Hawke's Bay on a camping trip! That means no technology, no phone reception, no luxuries...and I am so looking forward to it! I've got all me gears packed and equipped with extra sunblock, fishing rods, extra blankies and lots of home baked treats! Will update you next week with some pictures of our trip :)

Thought I would leave you with some photos that I recently got developed. I am very pleased with how clear the Christmas lights pictures turned out.

There's no place like home.

Hello lovelies, we are home! What an amazing couple of days away in one of the coolest little cities ever, Wellington! I have to say, I am completely in love! All the wonderful streets of unique independant stores, incredible restaurants and bars with such personality had me in awe the whole time. From dancing the night away in a bar called Mighty Mighty to Queen and the Family Guy theme song, to having dinner in a garden bar/restaurant, Southern Cross, under warm blankets and play giant Jenga after dinner, I loved every moment of it! And what wonderful company :) Thanks Jeremy and Amanda, we had a ball! May there be many more to come.

I need to say a massive thank you to all the lovelies that guest posted for me while I was away, it meant a lot to me that you took care of my blog so well :)

These are only a few snippets of our trip that was taken on our Diana mini, but there will be plenty more to come! Also, head over to Here Comes the Sun for some more snapshots! Amanda will be posting her fantastic Instax photos soon :)

There's no place like home!

Cut Copy Create.

Just recently, I came across Cut Copy Create via Conversation Pieces and I have to say, I am in love! Bookmarking these for some Christmas ideas!

I have been thinking, it's time I start a little project, just to keep myself proactive. So today I bought some material and buttons and I am ready to make some canvas bags! Keeping in the theme of Christmas, wouldn't it be great actually making your own Christmas pressies? So it's time to get started!
