Reading List.

Recently I got sent a brand new funky Kindle case from The Snugg, a company which specialises in quality cases and covers for all your devices. Ever since I got a Kindle Fire for Christmas a few years back, I've been scanning the market for some fantastic cases which would better help protect my new toy, but unfortunately one, it was hard to come across, and two, nothing really took my fancy. This is why I am super excited to have my Kindle all wrapped up nicely in this new Blue Denim cover from The Snugg! Definitely a great site to bookmark and check out :)

This has also made me realise it's been a while since I've invested time in discovering new books to add to my reading list this year. I have to say, as I get older, I swear I become a better and more frequent reader and I actually get quite excited when wandering through book stores. My most recent reads have been The Shack (couldn't help myself, third time I've read this now!!), Jane Eyre and Lolita. Next lined up to read on my Kindle account is Les Misérables and Little Women, but I do have the urge to start adding a few more educational non-fiction books to my list as well. I just don't know where to start! Any recommendations? If so, please do share, I would be very curious to hear!

Let It Snow.

Well here we go friends, a very brief post today containing just a few essentials that I have to be packing for the weekend at the snow. I am so looking forward to a couple of days on the slopes, but trying to prepare as best I can for comfort and warmth!

Snow gear - Pants, jackets, gloves, goggles, board, boots etc.
Runaway Jury book for the evenings
Diana Mini to capture some shots of the beautiful mountains
Hot Water Bottle for the end of day relaxing
Mini Cupcakes with Ganache icing

I will be thinking of our little Flops so much, as I hate leaving her behind, but lucky for friends and family, we have sorted out company for Flops and someone is coming to house sit and keep her company.

So friends have an awesome weekend! Any of you have anything special planned? Hah I suppose half of you readers are all experiencing Summer time at the moment, so probably hard to contemplate us going to the snow :)

Volume I.

(Cristy Lacanilao)

Don't you love getting some inspiration from books and magazines? It's amazing how one sentence from a novel can activate your imagination and ideas start forming. I've been immersing myself in Isuu, which is a great source of online publications of all genres. And since I have a few very exciting projects coming up in the next couple of months, I am going to need all the inspiration I can get. You will be filled in in the near future :)

Also, I am debating whether to start a facebook page for my blog. Seems to be a great way to communicate upcoming giveaways, promotions and favourite links, but I just haven't taken the plunge yet as I am not too sure how many people keep up to date with it. What do you think? Do you follow other blog's facebook pages?

The Suitcase Series.

Yay what a lovely Christmas! Well I just got back from a lovely get away with the famdamily the last couple of days and back for a few days over New Years before we head off into the wilderness again to go camping! I must say, I am still stuffed from Christmas and it's only just starting!

Now this has brought me great joy...I just discovered that Dottie Angel is releasing her second book! Everyone must be familiar now with the lovely crafts and interiors featured on her blog and flickr, but I only just found out about her book! The Suitcase Series will be released in 2011 and can be pre-ordered from here. Joy! I have a birthday coming up early next year, so expect this little one on my list :)

Happy holidays everyone!

Coffee table book inspiration.

I assume everyone would be acquainted with the lovely The Selby by now, but I couldn't resist sharing my latest treasure with you. On our trip to Wellington earlier this month I got my hands on this pretty little book by Todd Selby, and gosh can I just say, you need to put this on your Christmas wish list! The Selby is in your place book was released earlier this year, and it's taken this long for me to actually find it in a bookstore! Have a sneak peak of the book here or order it online at Amazon, but just make sure you get your hands on a copy!

Judge a book by it's cover.

(jelens)

Okay, so I know this sounds bad, but it's true(in my opinion): I always judge books by their covers. Always. If the cover doesn't appeal to me, I probably won't read it! I don't know if it's just the designer in me that cries out for creative cover concepts, or whether I am just being picky.

Also, thanks to everyone's great recommendations on books! I am taking them all into consideration next time I am standing in front of the Penguin Classics shelf :)
