Places to See.

Following on from my post from the other day, it's only fair that I share a few places with you that would be well worth visiting next time you are around the Peninsula. In all honesty, I don't actually have too many shops or cafes or restaurants to share with you, as majority of the time we spent exploring the beaches and having BBQs back where we were staying.

To start this off, despite the fact that the Yarra Valley is know for all their wineries, I definitely have to recommend you checking out the local wineries on the Peninsula as well. We stopped over at Morning Sun winery on a beautiful summer's morning and had fantastic wine tastings of their collection. Their staff, being super friendly and very helpful explaining their wines and the differences, helped us find a couple of wines that we both really enjoyed. Needless to say, we walked out with a few bottles ;)

Around the Peninsula, there are a range of beautiful small towns filled with beautiful boutique shops and cafes. One spot which we fell in love with was Flinders. We had to stop in at the Flinders Sourdough bakery, filled with freshly wood-fire baked breads, as the smell from the street drew us in. Next door to the bakery, we went for breakfast at the Flinders Bakehouse Cafe, where I think I actually had the best breakfast to date; toasted focaccia, cream cheese, smoked salmon, capers, spinach and tomato... mouth watering good!

Oh and just on a side note, when you're in Flinders, it's a great idea to stop over at Tree on Cook Street. It's a beautiful boutique filled with a range of wonderful ornaments, clothes, art supplies, perfumes and more! So very tempting ;)
