Magical Night.

I love birthdays, especially when it's my husband's! This was the first birthday that Neil and his twin celebrated separately since we moved to Melbourne. I wanted it to be a special night for Neil as all our friends back home would not be here to celebrate with us. So the whole of Saturday was spend baking and icing birthday treats, preparing food and making white wine Sangria for our guests. Also managed to get our hands on SPARKLERS as it's not a birthday without some sparkler fun! We had an incredible evening with such an awesome bunch of folk joining us and truly making it a magical night.

On a side note, this was my first time making ganache icing, so I was a bit nervous, but it turned out incredible! As a little tip, half the chocolate I used was Dark Ghana and the other half Milk chocolate (I would definitely recommend getting Whittaker's chocolate, there's nothing quite like it!!) and it created an incredible blend and perfect balance of bittersweet chocolate. I'm not an expert to be giving advise, but that's just a little something I thought worked incredibly well.
