Bit about me.

This weekend was amazing! Our little family went away to Waihi Beach for a little get-away, reminiscing old times, looking forward to the future and enjoying great company and good food. We were lucky enough to borrow our friend's beautiful DSLR and have a go. Never knew there was so much to learn about a digital though - gosh, makes me kind of appreciate the simplicity of my Diana. But thought I would share two shots which I adore. With the time of day that they were taken, and a bit of overcast weather, it came out with this beautiful blue hue (or...it could have just been a setting on the camera which we would've played with).

If anyone knows any good links to teach you some nice tricks to the DSLR or which brand/model you prefer to use, let me know! The hubby and I are keen to invest in one, so better start looking out :)

  3. Love your blog Ilana and have been reading for a little while now. Just had to comment when you mentioned a DSLR as I am totally obsessed with mine. I have a Canon EOS 550D with the 'thrifty fifty' f/1.8 prime lense which I use the majority of the time. Check out these links though - they should help a bit in your search for a new camera.

  7. I love those photos, very nice.

I heard Nikons and Canons were the best and chose a Nikon as I liked the feel of it better - I got the D5000 and it has been perfect :)

  8. wow this are great!!

well as for now i use a canon 5D, but i would recommend a 500D or 550D to start with,,, i'm a canon fun when talking about digital (but i prefer nikon when using analog, but that's just my taste)
in case your are not used to slr cameras ,i would recommend to read any book from langford, they helped me a lot!
